Case Study

Midlands Sports Centre

When commissioned with the task of constructing two sand filled synthetic grass pitches and 8 macadam tennis courts it was important for staff to draw on their experience and expertise to overcome the construction issues associated with ‘tiered’ formation levels. This involved project specific drainage design and hand laying of macadam to the bottom courts.

Two blocks of four macadam tennis courts were built on the two levels and surrounded by perimeter fencing. The courts were fitted with floodlights and lines were marked on the tennis court topping.

The synthetic sand filled synthetic grass pitches were constructed with a macadam base and wearing course with a stone base. A shock pad layer coupled with a sand filled top layer ensures maximum quality and performance. In addition to this both floodlights and perimeter fencing were implemented.
