Greenford Cemetery, Ealing
Bernhard’s were commissioned by Ealing Borough Council to extend the existing internal roadway within Greenford Cemetery, Ealing. Although the road was within the cemetery grounds it had to be constructed to full Highways specification. The cost of the scheme amounted to £230,000.
The main elements of the works were as follows:
- Site clearance, earthworks and ground modelling
- Supply and laying of full drainage including road gulleys and land drainage
- Supply and spreading of granular sub base
- Supply and laying of road kerbs
- Supply and laying of macadam surfacing
- Importation and spreading of BS3882 topsoil
- Formation of attenuation ponds
